welcome to the
Speak Stand Save 2022 Conference
We are very excited and honored that you will be joining us on February 1, 2022, for the 6th Annual Speak Up Stand Up Save a Life Conference. This annual conference, typically held at Grand Canyon University is being held VIRTUALLY for 2022. The Speak Up Stand Up team has made every effort to make this year’s socially distant conference not only engaging but fun for all ages, with self check-in’s/stretching breaks throughout the program and motivational speakers that will captivate everyone's attention. This is sure to be like no other conference. Our team is working diligently to button up the final materials for the event and wanted to share some important details and information with you, giving you enough time to prepare.
Although the conference is virtual, we ask that you attend promptly at 9:00 AM. You will not want to miss one minute of this packed agenda. Agenda and important details may be found below in each Track.
The event starts promptly at 9:00 and will end approximately at 2:00 PM (depending on your group’s track). REMINDER: Make sure that the website www.speakstandsave/2022 is WHITELISTED BY YOUR I.T. DEPARTMENT.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there a permission slip that we can provide to the parents of our students?
Yes, we have created verbiage for your use; please see link below: Permission Slip and Parent Letter
Q: How should I present the conference to my students?
We suggest that you utilize whatever virtual platform your district has approved for distance learning, and then share your screen with the students.
Q: What if I am ahead of or behind the schedule?
Don’t worry about the schedule, if you are ahead you will just finish early. If you are behind you can always finish it later or close out of the conference. There is a buffer of time built in to make sure that you and your class will not run behind schedule.
Q: Can parents participate with their students or should they register and attend on their own through the adult track?
We encourage both; attending with the student to experience their session is always the best approach. However, there is so much valuable content in the adult track; we do not want you to miss that either. If you have the time, we encourage you to view both tracks (these will be available through the same links even after the conference).
Q: What is the best way to communicate with the conference team on the day of the event in case of issues, questions, needs, etc?
Please send an email to registration@speakstandsave.com if you should have any issues with the website or getting into the tracks. Include your name and phone number and a member of the SSS team will be in touch with you right away.
Q: Will there be time for lunch?
There is an opportunity to grab lunch; we do ask that everyone be back in his or her seats quickly because it will be a learning lunch. Programing will continue as it has at all in-person conferences in the past. You will be able to pause the presentation at your leisure.
Q: Can I start and stop the programming at any time to check in with my students, etc?
You absolutely can, we have built time into the conference to allow stops. Throughout the conference, there will be check-ins from the SSS team and places for you to pause if you want to check-in on your students as well.
Q: Is it important for my students to have their cameras on during the conference?
Ideally you will all be together in a classroom, but for those students who are online, it is essential that you are able to see them. We believe that you, as an educator, should have your eyes on all students throughout the conference. There is material and discussion that some students might find difficult or have an emotional reaction to. Please be present and aware of all students during the conference.
Q: What if I have a student who needs emotional support during or after the conference?
We will be providing all viewers a phone number (at the bottom of the screen) to Operation Shockwave throughout the conference to ensure access to emotional support. This number will also be provided in your after-conference literature.
